Unlike the way these bonuses work at most other online casinos, all the free spins from each deposit are credited at once. They aren’t spread out over several days. Bonus terms for the FatPirate welcome bonus

The welcome bonus isn’t just no-sticky, it also comes with a low wagering requirement. Only 20x bonus and deposit applies, which is well below the industry standard of 30x (d+b). For free spin winnings, the wagering requirement is 40x. You have 10 days to convert the bonus money into real money, and this has to be done with stakes of no more than €100 per round. Different rules apply to this bonus than to the casino welcome bonus. The wagering requirement is set at 5x bonus and deposit, which is fairly good compared with other betting operators. With bonus money you can stake up to €50 per bet, and this has to be done either on singles with minimum odds of 2.00 or accumulators with minimum odds of 1.50. 

Ongoing promotions and loyalty programme

Twice a week you can claim reload bonuses that come as match bonuses or free spins. On top of that there’s weekly cashback for live casino play and daily cashback for RNG casino games. The general bonus terms stipulate a wagering requirement of 35x bonus and deposit, or 40x for free spin winnings. Deposits and withdrawals at FatPirate

There are no fees, and all fiat deposits are credited instantly, while crypto deposits can take a few minutes to land in your account depending on traffic on the blockchain.

For fiat methods, the transaction limits are low enough to suit cautious players, and most high rollers will find them acceptable too. Withdrawals, verification and payout limits at FatPirate

Deposits must be wagered at least once before you can request a withdrawal of your winnings. You register the withdrawal in the FatPirate cashier, and as a general rule you should pick the same payment method you used for the deposit you won from. The payments department will process the withdrawal within 3 business days. Those three days are counted either from when the withdrawal was registered or from when the previous one was approved. Expect a fairly lengthy processing time, in other words.

FatPirate has also capped how much money you can withdraw per day and per month. You’ll find the limits in the table below, where we’ve broken them down by VIP level. Remember that your VIP level is calculated based on your activity over the last 90 days, so your limits can change if you play more or less over a given period.

Before a withdrawal can be approved, you also need to complete KYC verification. That means you’ll be asked to upload some documents to your player profile. Valid ID and proof of address issued within the last three months are required from every player. You may also be asked to document that you’ve only used payment methods belonging to you.

Each required document comes with specific rules about what should and shouldn’t be visible. For this casino test we went through the entire game catalogue, and overall we were pleased with the selection. We think the variety is good across almost every category, so every player should be able to find games that suit them. We also kept an eye on how many new games launch each week, and found it varies from 10 to more than 30. That means there’s always something new and interesting to try.

As mentioned, there are 136 game providers at FatPirate, a good number when it comes to creating solid variety in game types, features and mechanics. It also looks like the casino has made deliberate choices to include both the big providers with hundreds of games, who may not lead the field on innovation, and smaller developers who focus more on breaking new ground.

The FatPirate live casino holds more than 600 games. The vast majority are various types of table games, but there’s also a good number of game shows and other speciality titles. The live games come from several studios, including Playtech, BetGamesTV, ICONIC21 and OnAir Entertainment. These are good providers, but we miss Evolution.

Sports betting is offered both pre-match and live, with all the most popular sports represented. Football has the most fixtures to bet on, but tennis, basketball, table tennis and boxing all offer good coverage too. The sports menu clearly marks which sports offer live odds. These usually come with more outcomes to bet on, but you’ll need to be quick, as the odds shift continuously. Licence, security and responsible gambling

FatPirate is an online casino that operates without being regulated by a gambling authority. Instead of a gambling licence, they hold a corporate licence issued in Costa Rica. This licence allows the company to run a business offering gambling services, but it isn’t tied to any authority overseeing the operations and procedures behind the actual gambling side of the casino. 

Without a recognised casino licence, it’s impossible to verify how secure FatPirate really is. It’s up to the casino itself whether to follow industry standards, and nobody checks whether they actually have the safeguards they claim to have. There are some aspects we have good reason to believe are solid, though. We can see that the website is protected with secure TLS encryption, for instance, and that they work with licensed game providers. That means those providers have had their games tested and approved by the relevant testing agencies.

As part of our FatPirate test, we also looked into the processes and tools offered to support responsible gambling. We found no way to set limits for deposits, losses, wagering or session length. This was disappointing, as it potentially makes things risky for players at risk of developing gambling problems. The only way to limit your play at FatPirate is to self-exclude from the casino, meaning you block your access by either pausing or closing your account.

User experience and mobile play

We really have nothing to fault about the usability at FatPirate. The site is easy to navigate, with logical game categories and easily accessible services such as customer support, the cashier and the terms and conditions. The fact that the whole site is fully localised is another plus, and of course we appreciate that they’ve gone further by supporting EUR as a currency.

The experience on mobile is just as good, and whether you’re on a phone or tablet you play through the browser. The site adjusts to give you the best possible experience whatever your screen size. You have access to the same games and services from every device, and as long as you have a stable, decent internet connection the site loads quickly too.

Customer support at FatPirate

If you need help, you can start a live chat straight from the website or send an email. Customer support is open around the clock, so you can expect almost immediate assistance via chat. Email can take somewhat longer, though, and when we tested it, it took a maximum of 3 hours to receive a reply. For general questions you can also browse the FatPirate FAQ in the help centre.

During our FatPirate test we contacted customer support four times, asking both simple and more difficult questions. The aim was to assess the friendliness, response time and knowledge of the agents we dealt with. Most of our questions concerned account verification, licensing and security, bonus terms and responsible gambling. We were happy with the help overall, and it seemed like the agents took the time to understand our questions before answering, which is actually far less common than you’d think.

How we tested FatPirate

We tested FatPirate using Kingbonus’s standard methodology for online casinos. This methodology was developed by our editorial team to ensure a fair, thorough and objective casino test covering every aspect that matters to players. • Terms and registration: Before completing the registration of our gaming account at FatPirate, we read through the full terms and conditions carefully. We were mainly looking for conditions that work against players and deviate from standard casino rules.
• Welcome bonus: We used the entire welcome package, depositing €50 for each of our first deposits. While using the bonuses, we checked that they worked the same way as described in the bonus terms. We also went through the other promotion rules and the general bonus conditions.

Our verdict and rating for FatPirate 

FatPirate is an online casino with both strengths and weaknesses. Where they do best is game selection, offering a very varied and strong library across almost every category. Bonuses are another area where they stand out, particularly in terms of the different bonus types available. We especially like that the bonuses are no-sticky and that the welcome bonus comes with a low wagering requirement, even if we’d have preferred winnings not to be capped at 10x. Payment methods are something else FatPirate has handled well.

The drawbacks here come down to lengthy withdrawal processing, low daily and weekly withdrawal limits, and security. It’s potentially risky that they operate without a valid gambling licence, and disappointing that they don’t offer more responsible gambling tools. 

Our verdict, therefore, has to be a somewhat cautious recommendation.
