About the welcome bonus

Turnover requirements

Design and ease of use 

It is simple and functional. That is probably the most comprehensive description we can come up with. Menus for searching slots and providers work fine. We might miss a section for FAQs, so that one can search for generic answers to simple questions instead of going into live chat all the time. But, for the most part, we are very satisfied with how Pirateplay is presented. 

Verification 

Pirateplay allows uploading of documents as soon as you open an account. The first thing we did was submit ID proof and proof of address. Otherwise, we recommend everyone to do the same. It didn’t take that many hours before this was approved. But we never received an email confirming this. We only observed that the status was changed to approved inside our profile. 

Apart from the usual documents for ID, address and payment method, we also find SOF uploading. Because who does not have control over all abbreviations, SOF stands for ‘Source of Funds’. This means that at one point or another you may be asked to prove where the money you play for comes from. This is done to comply with international AML (Anti Money Laundering) regulations. However, we are not very used to seeing this at casinos with a Curacao license. We therefore contacted customer service once again, and they confirmed that regular customers with a normal playing pattern will not be asked to provide this. On the other hand, they have internal rules that if your deposits exceed a total of €25,000, such a procedure will be initiated.

We are partly very impressed by what Pirateplay has achieved as a product. Of course we find something to put our finger on. Let’s start with the wagering requirement of 25x (d+b). It’s not very high, but still a bit above what we like to see. On the other hand, kudos to them for not imposing turnover requirements on any of the free spins or cash bonuses. It commands respect. 

The minimum withdrawal of €480 for bank transfer is another thing that we think is a little too much.

What we think least about must be that the list of excluded games with bonus money is quite long. And even worse, the games are not blocked from playing if you try. We hope that Pirateplay can sort this out as soon as possible.
